To give up or to let go: that is not the question

Sometimes, no matter how difficult life gets, you just can’t let go that easily.

There are decisions you need to make and that includes keeping what keeps you alive and breathing. Even when the odds are telling you to settle for something else, you just can’t. Simply because you can’t give up the desires of your heart.

Your dreams.

Your gift.

That one shot you cannot afford to miss without trying.

But sometimes, the best decisions are the selfless ones. The ones you took time to consider not because you think of giving it up, but because you want to put others before you–your dreams, with a childlike expectation that one day, your time will come. One day, the choice will be so obvious you won’t even take time to think about it. On that day, all the waiting and sacrificing you’ve once made would make sense and it’s all worth it.

Giving up is never synonymous to waiting. And so is letting go.

You can wait without letting go of what’s dear to your heart and you can wait without giving up as well. Not because you didn’t chase for it now doesn’t mean that you’re taking another direction. Keep the destination, keep the fire, keep going.

Sooner or later, you and I will get there.
